Caguas, Puerto Rico, September 16, 2015 – In a convincing fashion, China achieved their second win in this second round, over host team Puerto Rico 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-14). The defending champions, already out of the gold medal race, advanced to 2-0 looking for the ninth place.

Outside spikers Jin Ye and Du Qingqing were a problem without solution for the Puerto Rican defenders, nailing 17 and 14 points respectively, while middle-blocker Hu Mingyuan added 10 points.

On the other side of the net, Puerto Rico had the usual quota of Karla Santos, with 13 tallies, but she was the only one who could find some gaps into the functioning of a well-oiled Chinese machine.

Although the final set was rather quick, Puerto Rico did their best struggling against a much more developed team, reaching their level at some points thanks to their never-ending spirit. However, China’s abilities prevailed at the final moments of each set, allowing an easy win in the end.
